Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trekking follows the traditional way. The route from Jiri to Everest Base Camp was first used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. From their contribution to finding out the way to Everest, this trekking trail has been highly recommended as it provides the opportunity to enroll in many Sherpa communities and know them very closely. This path discovers more flora and fauna.

Everest Base Camp Trekking starts after almost 7 hours of driving from Kathmandu to Jiri. Then the trek ascends through the forested area covered by magnolia, rhododendron, maple, etc. The Sherpa and Tamang Villages of the lower parts of the Everest region are wonderful. Their ethnic hospitality and simple lifestyle have gotten superb combined with the long trip.

Lamjura La Pass is located between Jiri and Namche Bazaar that offers beautiful views of mountains. Crossing the suspension bridges of the Everest Base Camp Trek route is also a distinctive experience.

The gradual continuation of the trekking joins the Phakding Village. It is also adjoined by trekkers who choose the Everest base camp trek through the airways to Lukla.

Then the trek takes the Everest Base Camp Trekkers at Namche Bazaar mainly populated by the Sherpa people. This place is full of facilities. So, it has been chosen for acclimatization.

Tengboche Monastery is another highlight of the Jiri to Everest Base Camp Treks trail. It resembles the cultural integration and key feature of Tibetan Buddhism in the Everest region.

The Everest Base Camp Treks trail goes ahead through the uphill and downhill bypassing lots of forests of rhododendron and birch and the ethnic villages as well. Finally, the trekkers reach Gorek Shep. From there, they can have the Everest Base Camp hiking and enjoy the breathtaking views.

The great sunrise viewpoint Kala Patthar trekking is amazing, but a little bit technical. However, our expert Everest trekking guides carefully lead the trekkers to reach on top of Kala Patthar. It offers very closer views of the four highest mountains in the world such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Yu, and Mt. Makalu, and other towering peaks. Then the trek comes down to Lukla and returns to Kathmandu by airways.

The Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary from Jiri is longer, but its offering is diverse. According to the Everest trek map, almost 185 km is the Jiri to Everest Base Camp distance. However, the road expansion has made the trek pretty shorter and the very route starts from Bhandar. The charming views, Sherpa culture, unique flora and fauna, and hospitality are remarkable.

Spring and autumn are the Everest Base Camp Trekking Best Seasons. The trekkers may have the chance to visit the Everest Marathon if they are trekking in May because Marathon holds on 29th May every year.
