Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trekking follows the traditional route. Actually, the route from Jiri to Everest Base Camp was first used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenjing Norgey Sherpa. From their contribution for finding out the way to Everest, this trekking trail has been highly recommended as it provides the opportunity to enroll in many Sherpa communities and know them very closely. The more flora and fauna can also be discovered from this path.

Everest Base Camp Trekking starts after almost 7 hours of driving from Kathmandu to Jiri. Then the trek ascends through the forested area covered by magnolia, rhododendron, maple, etc. The Sherpa and Tamang Villages of lower parts of the Everest region are wonderful. Their ethnic hospitality and simple lifestyle have gotten superb combined with the long trip.

Lamjura La Pass is located between Jiri and Namche Bazaar that offers the beautiful views of mountains. Crossing the suspension bridges of Everest Base Camp Trekking route is also a distinctive experience.

The gradual continuation of the trekking joins the Phakding Village. It is also adjoined by trekkers who choose the airways to Lukla.

Then the trek takes the Everest Base Camp Trekkers at Namche Bazaar mainly populated by the Sherpa people. This place is full of facilities. So, it has been chosen for the acclimatization.

Then the trek comes down to Lukla and returns to Kathmandu by airways.

The Everest Base Camp Trekking itinerary is longer from Jiri, but its offering is diverse. Almost 185 km is the Jiri to Everest Base Camp distance. However, the road expansion has made the trek pretty shorter and the very route starts from Bhandar. The charming views, Sherpa culture, unique flora and fauna and hospitality are remarkable.

Spring and autumn are the Everest Base Camp Trekking Best Seasons. The trekkers may have the chance to visit the Everest Marathon if they are trekking on May because Marathon holds on 29th May every year.

At this moment, our company gives full authority to our guides for deciding what to do or not to do concerning on the interest of our clients.

While talking about the flight, sometimes it may delay due to the weather condition or the technical problem especially to go to Lukla from Kathmandu. At this time, Rising Adventure can charter either Helicopter or Twin Otter as per the demand of our clients. Besides, if it is needed, we also recommend or arrange the hotel in Kathmandu and provide the porter service too.

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by the representative from Rising Adventure at the arrival gate and transferred to hotel.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

    This is your day for sightseeing. So, you are picked up by your tour guide from your hotel. Basically, Kathmandu Sightseeing involves the four UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. They are Kathmandu Darbar Square, Swayabhunath Stupa, Boudhnath Stupa and the Pashupatinath Temple. However, we also organize other sightseeing tours nearby Kathmandu in accordance with your desires like Patan and Bhaktapur Darbar Squares those too are enlisted in UNESCO.

    In the evening, Rising Adventure will discuss about your trip and introduce our trekking guide as well as other members.

  • Day 03: Drive to Bhandar

    Today you will have almost 7 hours drive to Jiri which lies in the north-east of Kathmandu. Then the continuation of your trekking will take you to Bhandar, a trekking starting point. On the way to Bhandar, you will enjoy the majestic views of mountains.

    Your trail will go down to Baranda through the forests. Then you will reach at Kenja by passing the Surma Khola and Likhu Khola Valley. Finally, you will reach at Sete by ascending to Chimbu.

  • Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar

    On this day, you will continue your trek for almost 7 hour until you won’t reach to the Namche Bazaar which is taken as the Gateway to Everest. While trekking, you will go on through the breathtaking views such as blue pine forests, firs, junipers and other beautiful sceneries.

  • Day 11: Rest at Namche Bazaar

    You will spend a day here in order to have rest as well as acclimatize. You can pass your day by exploring the local culture of Namche. You can also visit the museum which describes the traditional customs of the Sherpa and you have an opportunity to visit the highest hotel of the world names as Everest View Hotel.

  • Day 12: Trek to Tengboche

    Your trek will go ahead from Namche to Tengboche along the magnificent views of the varieties of mountains. After reaching in Tengboche, you can observe the lifestyle of local Sherpas as well as their monastries.

  • Day 13: Trek to Dingboche

    From Tengboche, you will trek down to Dibuche, crossing the exciting suspension bridge on the Imja River. After then, you will climb to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones and your trek will take you to the Dingbuche through its astonishing views of Lhotse, Island Peak and Ama Dablam.

  • Day 14: Acclimatization day at Dingboche

    Today you are going to spend a whole day in Dingboche. However, you can go for a hike to Chhukung or to Nagarjun hill. If you want to go to Chhukung, it takes almost 4 hours to reach there. From there you will see the stunning views of snow capped peaks as well as glacier. After spending sometime there, you will come back to Dingboche following the previous route.On the other hand, again it takes almost 4 hours to go to Nagarjun Hill.

  • Day 15: Trek to Lobuche

    On this day, you will go up to the Khumbu Glacier and pass the row of stone monument that was built in memory of six Sherpas who died in an avalanche at Lobuche. The place Lobuche has only few huts at the foot of Himalayan giants.

  • Day 16: Trek to Gorakshep and have a hike to Everest Base Camp (5340 m)

    This is the difficult and the most memorable day of this trek. You will walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5340 meter without using the mountaineering equipments. From the Base Camp, you can have the spectacular scenic beauty of the Khumbu Icefall. After then you will return to Gorakh Shep for the night.

  • Day 17: Hike to Kalapatthar (5555 m) and Trek to Pheriche

    This is the toughest day of the trekking. Your trail will begin early in the morning for going to a hike to Kalapathar. So, you will ascend steeply to Kalapathar. After reaching there you will enjoy the incredible views o f the towering Himalayas such as the Mt. Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse and so on. You will descend to Gorak Shep following the same route. After having a breakfast there, your trail will continue to Pheriche.

  • Day 18: Trek back to Namche Bazaar

    On this day, after having breakfast, you will descend to Pangboche to Dibuche to Tengboche, where you will enjoy the lunch. Afterwards, your trek will be continued to Namche Bazaar.
