Langtang Tamang Heritage Trek combines the cultural and natural wonders of Langtang Valley Treks. It is a wonderful trekking trail in the Langtang Region of Nepal which offers the beautiful Tibetan-influenced Tamang cultures in front of the gorgeous views of the Langtang ranges. The sceneries are quite remarkable.

Tamang Heritage and Langtang Trek start from the Syaprubesi after a scenic drive from Kathmandu. Before it, you have Kathmandu Sightseeing in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Then the trek begins along the Langtang National Park which conserves the beautiful flora and fauna.

Trekkers are astonished by the special culture, festival, lifestyle, dress, dances, and so on of the Tamang people of this region. The warm hospitality of Tamangs can be the best experience for anyone while having the Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek. You can uncover the Buddhist Monasteries, Chhortens, Mani Walls, and Prayer Flags almost all the way to your destination.

Walking through the forest of rhododendron, oak, maple, and bamboo tree is the charming aspect of this Langtang Tamang Heritage trail. You may also see animals such as wild boar, rhesus monkey, leopard, goral, etc.

Besides, the Langtang Valley is incredible in the middle of the Himalayan Giants like Langtang Lirung, Langtang II, Gangchempo, Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal, and other neighboring peaks. Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by the representative from Rising Adventure at the arrival gate and transferred to the hotel.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

    This is your day for sightseeing. So, you are picked up by your tour guide from your hotel. Basically, Kathmandu Sightseeing involves the four UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. They are Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayabhunath Stupa, Boudhnath Stupa, and the Pashupatinath Temple. However, we also organize other sightseeing tours nearby Kathmandu in accordances with your desires like Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares those too are enlisted in UNESCO.

    In the evening, Rising Adventure will discuss your trip and introduce our trekking guide as well as other members.

  • Day 03: Drive to Syaphrubesi (6-7 hrs)

    Your travel will start early in the morning from Kathmandu to Syaphrubesi by local bus. It takes almost 7 hours to reach there. On the way, you will have an opportunity to see the majestic views of green valley, terrace field as well as the magnificent sceneries of Himalaya’s ranges. From Dhunche, you will descend to Syaphrubesi.

  • Day 04: Trek to Gatlang (6-7 hrs walk)

    Today you are going to Gatlang, a beautiful Tamang village with traditional stone houses. So, you will go up and reach the vantage point which offers the eye-catching views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and other mountains as well as the Goljung village. Then the continuation of your trail will take you to Gatlang where you will be welcomed by local drinks and local language.

  • Day 05: Trek to Tatopani (5-6 hrs)

    Your trail will go down to Thangbuche at first. Then you will go up to Tatopani bypassing the Chilime Hydropower Dam. The term ‘Tatopani’ means hot water so, you will have a bath in the natural hot water.

  • Day 06: Trek to Thuman (6-7 hrs)

    Your trail will ascend to Brimdang, a small Tamang village through the alpine forest and reach Nagthali hill which offers the majestic views of Ganesh Himal, Lantang and so on. Finally, you will reach another Tamang village known as Thuman by descending.

  • Day 07: Trek to Briddhim (5-6 hrs)

    You will reach at Briddhim along the way nearby the border of Nepal and Tibet by passing the Lingling. Actually, Briddim is a typical Tibetan village where you will be welcomed by each family of the village. In Briddhim, you can observe the Dukchu Gompa Monastery and the lifestyle of the villagers.

  • Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel (6-7 hrs)

    Today you are going to Lama Hotel through the way of ups and downs by passing Ghopche Khola and Rimche. Lama Hotel is a small tea house located at the banks of Langtang River.

  • Day 09: Trek to Langtang Valley (5-6 hrs)

    Today, you are going to enter the Langtang National Park where you can see the numerous wild animals as well as herbs and shrubs. It takes almost three hours to reach Ghoda Tabela (Horse Stable), an entrance place to go to the National Park. En route, you pass the forests of rhododendron, pine, etc. Then your trail takes you to Langtang Village after approximately three hours ascending from National Park.

  • Day 10: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3-4 hrs)

    After having breakfast, you will leave the village and go towards Kyanjin Gompa passing through the yak pastures, wooden bridges and so on. Finally, you will reach Kyanjin Gompa at an altitude of almost 3871m from the sea level which offers the majestic sceneries of Mt. Langtang Lirung and Mt. Gyanchempo. You can further look around the surroundings such as Yak cheese Factory, Kyanjin Monastery, and Local Houses and so on.

  • Day 11: Hike to Tserko Ri (4984 m/5-6 hrs)

    You will go to Tserko Ri (4984m) for hiking early in the morning from where you will see the wonderful views of the sunrise over the Himalaya ranges. Then you will descend to Kyanjin Gompa.

  • Day 12: Trek to Rimche (6-7 hrs)

    After having breakfast, you will descend to Rimche retracing the way. It takes almost 6 hours to reach there. On the way, you will walk downhill via the forest along the river.

  • Day 13: Trek back Syaphrubesi (6-7 hrs)

    This is the last day of your trekking. Your trail will go down to Syaphrubesi along the Langtang River passing through the forested area as well as stunning views of Himalayas.

  • Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu

    In the morning after having breakfast you will have almost 7 hours driving on the same route and take you to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

  • Day 15: Departure

    Today your trip in Nepal comes to an end and the representative from Rising Adventure will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
