Makalu Base Camp Trekking is more than an adventure trekking in the rural Himalayan region of Nepal. It is situated between the Everest and Kanchenjunga Himalayan regions.

The trekking to Makalu Base Camp goes through the Makalu-Barun National Park area, which is a synonym of the natural Shangri La in Nepal Himalayas. It has got various bio-diversity, wonderful landscape and flora and fauna.

Tumlingtar is the gateway to the Makalu Base Camp Trek. The trail heads along the hilly gorge and the tropical green forest along the Barun River. The trip includes untouched valleys populated by ethnic groups like Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, and others.

The Himalayan chain in the eastern region includes Mt. Everest (8848m), Makalu, Chamlang, Baruntse, and Lhotse. The surrounding peaks are seen crystal clear from the Makalu Base Camp.
