Everest Trekking is the ultimate tour. Located in the north-east region of Nepal, Mt. Everest sits atop the world, a picturesque statue. The Everest region became a popular attraction after Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenjing Norbu Sherpa first summited Mt. Everest in 1953. During their ascension they trekked through Jiri which is known today as the traditional Everest Base Camp.
Treks in the Everest (Khumbu) region are the pinnacle for most adventurers. This region offers sights such as Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Kangtega, Makalu, Ama Dablam, and numerous other mountains. The Khumbu region also offers astounding flora and fauna and the charm of traditional cultures and lifestyles of Sherpas.
There are two ways to trek the Everest region. The first is the oldest route following the footsteps of Hillary and Tenjing Norbu Sherpa from Jiri to Everest. The second route takes adventurers by plane from Kathmandu directly to Lukla. From Lukla the trek to Everest continues on foot.
There are many different trekking packages in the region. There are both short and long trek packages including the Everest Base Camp Trek, Kalapatthar Hiking, Gokyo Lake Trek, Everest High passes Trek, Everest View Trek, and more. These are all very popular treks in Nepal that open a unique window into the lives of the Sherpa people, their hospitality, traditional lifestyle, and remarkable culture.
