Mount Makalu is the fifth tallest mountain in the world with pyramid shape. It lies in the Mahalangur Himalayas on the border between the Nepal and Tibet.

It is considered as one of the difficult mountain to climb in the world. It was first climbed on 1955 by the French people on the leadership of Jean Franco. It has two subsidiary peaks i.e. Kangchungtse, or Makalu II.
